Ratcheting up and sitting down: progress on my track stands

Two posts from my @MTBikeGeezer Instagram feed in the past week:

I've been practicing track stands on steeper inclines this past week. And yesterday I started adding aggressive ratcheting to the mix. Once I learn to hop better, I can see how combining ratcheting with hopping will be helpful on some trail obstacles… even on my new @advocatecycles fat bike: The Watchman.

My new @advocatecycles Watchman fat bike comes with a Control Moment Gyroscope (Google it) that keeps you balanced on the trail when you come to stop, as long as you're sitting on the saddle. No need to put your feet down. Very cool. Here's a video of me testing it out yesterday. It takes a little getting used to so yes, I was a little wiggly. I appreciate @ryankleech for telling me about this.
